Nestled in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, the Manimahesh Yatra is one of the most revered spiritual journeys in India. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Yatra takes devotees to the pristine Manimahesh Lake, situated at an altitude of 13,000 feet, with the magnificent Manimahesh Kailash Peak (18,564 ft) rising above it. Every year, thousands of pilgrims and trekkers undertake this journey to seek blessings, soak in the divine aura, and experience the raw beauty of the Himalayas.

Itinerary
DAY 01: ARRIVE AMRITSAR / PATHANKOT - BHARMOR (DRIVE 165 KM 6-7 HRS.) (BHARMOR 2195M)
Arrive Amritsar / Pathankot Cantt Railway station/Bus and meet our representative and drive to Bharmour via Chamba. Lunch Enroute. Upon arrival check in the hotel at Bharmour.
Evening free at leisure or visit 84 Chaurasi Temple is in the center of Bharmour and its hold immense religious importance because of temples built around 1400 years ago. This complex-Chaurasi, 84 Shrines built in the periphery of Chaurasi Temple. Chaurasi word is Hindi word number called Eighty-Four. This Temple built in 7th century, there are big and small temples in Chaurasi complex. Overnight in Bharmour.
DAY 02: BHARMOR - BRAHMANI TEMPLE (06 KM TREK) - BHARMOR
Today morning after breakfast Visit Brahmani Temple 6km trek and back to hotel. Brahmani Temple mainly known for Goddess Brahmani Mata, according to a local people they believe that the Bharmour was called Brahmpura after Brahmani Devi. When Lord Shiva went to Manimahesh Kailash granted a boon to goddess Brahmani Devi that all persons intending to go on pilgrimage to Manimahesh must have a dip in their holy pool. Failing this, their pilgrimage would not be acceptable to Lord Shiva. That is way every visitor firstly take bath in Brahmani's holy pool before Manimahesh Lake. Overnight stay in Bharmour.
DAY 03: BHARMOR - HUDSAR (BY JEEP 13 KM) - DHANCHO (BY TREK 7KM) (2280M)
Today early morning after breakfast check-out from hotel and drive to Hadsar. Hadsar is last point for transportation, road ends here. Then start trek to Dhancho 7 km trek and reached Dhancho in the afternoon have lunch and evening free at leisure. Overnight stay in camps.
DAY 04: DANCHOO - MANI MAHESH LAKE - DANCHOO (14 KM TREK)
Today early morning after breakfast, we will give you packed lunch and then start trekking to Manimahesh Lake 14500 feet. After having some food and spend some time absorbing the beauty of lake, beauty of lake Later in the day head back to Dhancho base camp reach for overnight stay in tents. Manimahesh Lake (also known as Dal Lake, Manimahesh) is a high-altitude lake (elevation 4,080 meters (13,390 ft)) situated close to the Manimahesh Kailash Peak.
DAY 05: DANCHOO - BHARMOR - CHAMBA (CHAMBA 996M)
Today morning after breakfast Trek down to Hadsar 14 km trek and from Hadsar drive back to Chamba via Bharmour and arrival at Chamba hotel. Overnight at Chamba.
DAY 06: CHAMBA - KHAJIYAR - DALHOUSIE - PATHANKOT / AMRITSAR RAILWAY STATION / AIRPROT DROP
Today after relaxed breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive back to Pathankot / Amritsar railway station / Airport.
Significance of Manimahesh Kailash Peak
The Manimahesh Kailash Peak is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. According to legend, after marrying Goddess Parvati, Shiva chose this peak as his dwelling. Unlike other Kailash peaks, Manimahesh is considered especially holy because it is untouched—no climber has ever scaled it successfully, adding to its mystical aura.
At the base of the mountain lies the sacred Manimahesh Lake, where devotees take a ritual dip to cleanse their sins. During the Yatra season, the lake becomes a hub of faith and devotion. The reflection of Manimahesh Kailash in the crystal-clear waters is considered a divine blessing, and many pilgrims believe that only the fortunate can witness this reflection clearly.
The Yatra is also part of the Panch Kailash Yatras—which include Kailash Mansarovar, Shrikhand Kailash, Kinnaur Kailash, and Adi Kailash—making it one of the most important pilgrimage circuits for Shiva devotees. The journey peaks during the annual Manimahesh fair, held from Janmashtami to Radha Ashtami (August–September), when thousands of devotees gather to celebrate faith, culture, and community.
